Centered: Photographs by Tony Hertz
Featuring ten color photographs of the California Central Coast.

Mr. Hertz is an award-winning photographer with over 20 years experience in commercial and journalistic photography. The name of the exhibition refers to the area of California that inspires him. Centered is organized by Gordon Fuglie, Curator of Exhibitions and Collections at the Art Center. “I discovered Tony’s work when I visited the web site of the Cuesta College Art Department and followed the link to Tony's site and was pleasantly impressed,” said Mr. Fuglie. Of his landscape photography, Mr. Hertz says being in natural and remote areas is exhilarating. “I find the solitude inspiring, and feel my best work takes place at twilight, after people have left the area, and I’m the only one left.” His photographs have appeared in the Los Angeles Times, New York Times, USA Today, Sunset Magazine, Time Magazine and National Geographic WORLD. Awards for his work include the International Photography Awards, National Press Photographer's Association and the Associated Press.
